Day 13 |
Day 13 |
An Unremarkable Day.
How cheery is that. The Peloton knows Dave's best ass-et |
Some days are best forgotten. Today was one of them. A group of 8 riders left Wellington at . One got a ruined tyre after 4km – on a mountain bike so we had no spares. Took 2 hours to cover the first 15km ( flats and city traffic) Eventually, the pace lifted but the road was rough and very busy. 154 km on Highway 1 is not much fun. I didn’t take any photos. The group fractured with the mountain bikes arriving in Bulls one and a half hours after Hazel’s group. On a positive, the day was fine and the road was flat. A debrief tonight might iron out some small problems. Tomorrow will be better.
This is an opportunity to introduce our ride leader. Dave is always cheerful and puts up with a lot of ribbing from the girls. He has contributed a huge amount in preparation, planning and encouraging the riders. Dave hates stopping so the girl’s toilet breaks and demands for coffee are a nightmare for him.
Second try, messed up the first one. We thought that this part of your ride may be a bit "testie" but you go girl, show us all how its done!!!

You're certainly having some big days in the seat Haze! We were a bit more able to empathise with your cooler conditions this week. Bkk had two 18 degree days...usually its mid 30s at this time of the year! Keep those wheels spinning!!!!
