South Island complete.

Following a very enjoyable and relaxing day doing virtually nothing, our riders gathered for a St Patricks day sausage sizzle breakfast send off at the Avanti Bike shop. At 9am and joined by two riders from Blenheim the team set off on the short ride to Picton and the 2pm ferry to Wellington.  The ride was short and uneventful. Over the past 12 days Hazel has covered 1136km in 48hours riding time.  With the South complete, our focus is now on the North and our finish at the Cape.

Alas, this is the end for two of our team. John Blundel is stopping here’ (He lives in Blenheim) while Chris McKelvie is returning to work in Brisbane. He may return next week for some later stages.
